Samsung Galaxy S26 Launch Set for Feb 25 with AI Focus

Samsung Announces Galaxy Unpacked Event

Samsung has officially sent out invitations for its highly anticipated Galaxy Unpacked event, scheduled to take place on February 25 in San Francisco. This event is widely expected to be the stage for the unveiling of the new Galaxy S26 series of smartphones.

Galaxy AI Takes Center Stage

Artificial intelligence is set to be a major focus once again, with Samsung emphasizing that the upcoming devices are designed to streamline daily interactions, foster confidence, and ensure that Galaxy AI feels intuitively integrated from the very first moment users hold the phones.

Privacy Display Feature Teased

One of the most intriguing features teased by Samsung is a new privacy display, reportedly debuting on the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This innovative function aims to allow users to obscure specific sections of their phone's screen from onlookers, thereby safeguarding sensitive information. For example, users will have the ability to hide the notification area to prevent unwanted viewing.

Processor Power and Regional Differences

Reports indicate that the flagship model in the S26 lineup will be powered by Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon Elite Gen 5 processor for users in the U.S. and China. In other regions, Samsung is expected to utilize its own Exynos 2600 processor. While historically there has been a noticeable performance gap, with Snapdragon chips often outperforming Samsung's Exynos in benchmarks and thermal efficiency, this distinction is becoming less significant as the performance of Exynos chips continues to improve.

Battery and Charging Specifications

According to industry sources, the Galaxy S26 is also slated to feature a substantial 5,100 mAh battery. For charging, it will support 60W wired charging alongside 25W wireless charging capabilities.

Updated Galaxy Buds Expected

Beyond smartphones, Samsung is also anticipated to introduce updated Galaxy Buds 4 wireless earbuds. The company plans to refresh the design of the earbuds, moving away from the previous generation's look, which had drawn frequent comparisons to Apple's AirPods.

Event Details and Viewing Options

The Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled to commence at 10 AM PT, 1 PM ET, and 7 PM CET. The proceedings will be broadcast live on Samsung's official website and its YouTube channel, allowing a global audience to tune in.

Pre-Registration Incentives Announced

Samsung is offering an attractive $30 promotional credit for individuals who pre-register their interest in the upcoming devices. This pre-registration is a simple expression of interest and does not obligate a purchase; consumers will still receive the credit as a discount towards other Samsung products. For those who pre-register and subsequently pre-order a new device, the promotional credit will be increased to $150, with no trade-in required.
